Backcountry Foundations - Women led - Winterstoke 2025

Learn the basics of planning and going on your first backcountry ski tour with a group of like-minded individuals. This full-day course will be a fun exploration of the backcountry, designed to build your confidence with your ski setup and avalanche safety equipment. No prior experience is needed—don’t feel pressured, as we’ll be starting from the very beginning.

Prerequisites

• Ability to comfortably ski tour (skin) uphill 700 meters vertical (2-3 hours).
• Comfortable skiing/riding the equivalent of a blue ski run at a North American resort. Experience with backcountry ski/snowboard equipment.

6:1 participant to guide ratio 

This clinic will take place in the Whistler backcountry using the Whistler Blackcomb Lift system for access.  A backcountry pass will be available for purchase for $45.
