Women Led Ski/Split Mountaineering - Winterstoke 2025

This clinic is for backcountry skiers and riders who want to enhance their adventures by covering more terrain and summiting peaks. Learn to systematically approach common ski mountaineering challenges, including hazard recognition and management, risk assessment, anchor building, rope techniques for descending and ascending, entering couloirs, and complex glacier travel.

Prerequisites

• Ability to comfortably ski tour (skin) uphill 1000 meters vertical (3-4 hours)
• Comfortable skiing/riding the equivalent of a blue ski run at a North American resort
• Comfort with ski/snowboard equipment
• AST 1 or equivalent avalanche training

What you will Learn?

• Morning hazard assessment
• Safe travel techniques
• Group management
• Feedback on setting skin tracks and route selection

6:1 participant to guide ratio 

This clinic will take place in the Whistler backcountry using the Whistler Blackcomb Lift system for access.  A backcountry pass will be available for purchase for $45.
