Japan - Hakuba Backcountry

Altus Mountain Guides is very excited to offer Guided Backcountry Trips to Japan and bookings are now available for February 2020.  Ski waist-deep powder, summit volcanoes, take a soak in the natural hot springs and enjoy great food- this is going to be a trip of a lifetime.  And with the most consistent snowfall anywhere in the Northern Hemisphere, if Japan is not on your ‘Bucket List,’ it should be.

We will take in all the different backcountry options the Hakuba area has to offer, whether the big alpine runs off Happone or the deep snow days ripping bamboo forest all day. All which is a short drive from your hotel.

We are heading to Japan in February for the best snow coverage.  Longer days and more stable weather than January will give us more time to ski bigger objectives.
